May 12, 2011 // Franchising.com // ATLANTA, GA - Tin Drum asiacafe, a leader in fast-casual Asian-fusion fare based in Atlanta, Georgia, announced today that it has signed its first franchise agreement. The agreement, signed with local restaurant operator Yogi Patel, is for the development of a single location in the Atlanta area, with further discussions ongoing regarding opening additional restaurants in the region.
Founded by Steven Chan, a seasoned restaurant owner/operator in Atlanta, GA in 2003, Tin Drum is a fast-casual pan-Asian restaurant offering Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Indian dishes and has been named one of Atlanta's top restaurants. It is known for having an Urban/Edgy yet relaxed atmosphere and for being a cool place to eat and hang out. Its décor is modern and bright and evokes a bustling, street environment. Their menu offers good, healthy food at a good value that is cooked to order.
"We are excited about our agreement with Mr. Patel", said Steven Chan, "His experience as a multi-unit operator with other dining concepts in the Atlanta area is a great fit for the Tin Drum business model. We look forward to the first of many openings."
"As a passionate customer of Tin Drum for many years, I was excited when I heard they had started franchising.", said Yogi Patel, "I have been looking for another concept to develop and believe Tin Drum is poised for significant growth as the Fast-Casual Asian Dining segment starts to expand."
Currently there are 6 Tin Drum restaurants operating in high-profile, high-traffic locations throughout the Atlanta metro area. In addition to the future location to be developed by Mr. Patel, Tin Drum's development plans call for 8-10 additional locations in the Atlanta area as well as growth in other markets including Birmingham, Charlotte and Raleigh. Tin Drum is seeking investors and experienced operators for multi-unit development in these key areas.
