Flowood Welcomes Dickey's Barbecue Pit With First Location

Country's Fastest Growing Barbecue Chain Expands in Mississippi

FLOWOOD, Miss., May 12, 2011 // PRNewswire // -- Local Mississippi resident announces his initial plans to open a Dickey's Barbecue Pit, the largest quick-serve barbecue chain in the country, in Flowood.

"After visiting Dickey's, having a good meal and seeing first-hand how everything was streamlined, I was impressed. Managing the business seemed like a tested process that worked flawlessly," said the new owner/operator Tim Earley, a graduate of Mississippi College who now lives in Pearl, MS.

This is the first Dickey's Barbecue franchise opportunity for Tim Earley.

"I am really intrigued by the opportunity to interact with the community on a daily basis and the challenge to earn their business by providing a quality product with exceptional service. I am very interested in the challenges of meeting the high demands and constantly seeking ways to improve our service for continued growth over an extended period of time," said Tim Earley, the owner/operator for the Flowood location.

Earley is eager to open the new location that will serve up 9 different meats slow cooked overnight, a vast array of home-style sides and complimentary ice cream for every customer.

"I have gained a new love for Dickey's since my research on opening my own began. I still can't believe the amount of support that I am getting from Justin and now the whole Dickey's Corporate Team. It really seems like you all are as interested in my success as much as I am," Earley said.

Texas-based Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened in 1941 and began franchising in 1994. Dickey's Barbecue Pit is well-known for their hot pit-smoked signature meats, complimentary ice cream and the big yellow cups.

"We are so thrilled Dickey's will be expanding in Mississippi to this fourth location. Flowood is a strong community and we are very excited to have a franchise here," President of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. Roland Dickey, Jr. said. "As our company grows, we grow as a family. This is another great opportunity for the company."

Since early 2011, Dickey's has opened 12 stores nationwide and 60 are set to open before the end of 2011.

The preparation prior to opening a Dickey's franchise is extensive, ensuring that owner/operators are thoroughly prepared to hit the ground running.

"We have so many new owner/operators who are investing with us. With this economy, we are glad people trust us for success and we certainly don't take that for granted. Their victory is our victory and we don't plan on going anywhere but up," Dickey said.

The original Dallas location is still open for business and Dickey's Barbecue Pit is still owned and operated by the Dickey Family.

There are 146 locations in 33 states.

Even today, Dickey's still slow smokes all of their signature meats overnight in every restaurant.
