Buffalo Wild Wings(R) Offers Free Wings to Football Fans to Support the "Save Our Season" Movement

Sports Grill and Bar Petitions Owners and Players on Behalf of Fans

MINNEAPOLIS, Jun 17, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- In an effort to amplify the voice of the fans in the ongoing labor disagreement in professional football, Buffalo Wild Wings(R) has sent an open letter to the owners and players on behalf of football fans across the country. As the unofficial home of the football fan, Buffalo Wild Wings is giving a voice to the message they're hearing from football fans - their guests - across the country: Get the game they love back onto the field.

Buffalo Wild Wings informed the two parties about the restaurant's Save Our Season Facebook Petition and announced that it will celebrate the return of football with a reward for fans who have joined the movement. Buffalo Wild Wings has pledged that if the players and owners compromise on their differences and come to an agreement to return to the field by July 20 - the first day players are scheduled to report to training camp - everyone who signs the "Save Our Season" petition will be awarded six free wings to be redeemed when the return of professional football is celebrated in September.

Should labor peace be achieved by that date, the Buffalo Wild Wings guests who signed the petition will receive a coupon for six free wings via Facebook notification. The "Save Our Season Six Free Wings" promotion will be the highlight of Buffalo Wild Wings' celebration of pro football with fans at its more than 765 restaurants nationwide.

"We live and breathe all sports and so do our guests," said Kathy Benning, Buffalo Wild Wings executive VP, marketing and brand development. "We keep hearing from our fans how much they want a football season and we want them to know we're happy not only to serve as their voice, but also to celebrate the return of football and their passion for the game."

The open letter on behalf of fans extends the Buffalo Wild Wings "Save Our Season" movement, which already has compiled more than 16,000 petition signatures. During the college basketball tournament in March and April, Buffalo Wild Wings ran its football ads with a tag at the end urging the two sides to come to an agreement. The company's Fantasy Football Blogger League also was called off the bench back in April and sent into action to rally its passionate audience of fantasy football players around this cause.

"The professional football season is obviously important to our business," Benning said. "However, we know that no matter the outcome of these talks, Buffalo Wild Wings will continue to be the gathering spot for all sports viewing. We're hopeful that both sides of this dispute will come to an agreement and we will see professional football this fall."

Whether it's professional or college football, baseball, hockey, basketball, soccer or curling, Buffalo Wild Wings - with dozens of big screens and HDTVs, award-winning wings and signature sauces and seasonings - has become the best place for friends to watch their favorite teams and share in the camaraderie and competition of sporting events.
