Jersey Mike's Subs Raises Funds For Cancer For College At Grand Opening

Owner Celebrates with Free Subs

July 18, 2011 // Franchising.com // San Diego, CA - Jersey Mike's Subs opened its seventh store in the San Diego area. This is storeowner Steven Leonard's second store. He has been co-area director for Jersey Mike's since 2009 when it first opened in the greater San Diego area.

Leonard celebrated the store's grand opening on July 13 with a 5-day free sub fundraiser. The proceeds supported Cancer for College. Anyone with a fundraising coupon received a free regular size sub with a minimum $1 contribution. More than 10,000 coupons were distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.

The mission of Cancer for College is to give hope and inspiration to cancer survivors and amputees by presenting college scholarships. The charity has provided over $750,000 in scholarships.
