America's Fastest Growing Barbecue Builds Texas Expansion

HOUSTON, Oct. 3, 2011 // PRNewswire // -- Kristin and Paul Mason will open the first Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Tomball, Texas, following the franchise agreement with Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc.

″We are in love with Barbecue. We are native Texans and the joy it brings to people, coupled with a comfortable atmosphere; it's the perfect fit for us and our community,″ said Kristin, who will own and operate the new location with her husband, Paul. ″We enjoy our country roots and appreciate good food and want to share that with everyone.″

This will be the ninth Dickey's location in the Houston area and the first for Tomball.

″Tomball has a small town feel and is growing rapidly these days. We like the new developments, the college campus, new road expansion, and retail stores that have recently been built in the area. Dickey's would make a great addition, fitting in and serving the community well,″ said Kristin.

Kristin and Paul grew up just north of Houston and met at Texas A&M, where they both graduated before moving back to their hometown. Paul owns a construction business, while Kristin has grown a substantial career in Human Resources. The two sought a break from the corporate culture by opening their own Dickey's Barbecue.

The restaurant remains anchored in Texas, where the first location opened in Dallas during 1941.
