October 12, 2011 // Franchising.com // JACKSON, MS – Jackson Hewitt Tax Service has bestowed its highest honor – the Franchisee of the Year Award – on franchise owner Jeffrey Davidson of Jackson, Miss.
Announced as part of the 2011 Jackson Hewitt® Annual Convention, held recently in New Orleans, Louisiana, the Franchisee of the Year Award is given each year to the franchisee who exhibits the highest level of performance in terms of growth, territory and employee development, customer service and community involvement. The award also recognizes franchise owners who uphold the standards that are at the core of the Jackson Hewitt experience – quality, professionalism and entrepreneurship.
Davidson’s franchise operation was chosen from more than 700 franchisees from across the country. He grew his franchise operation from two locations in 1996 preparing 800 tax returns, to 26 locations across Central Mississippi preparing more than 8,500 tax returns this past tax season.
“Being chosen as the Jackson Hewitt Franchisee of the Year is an incredible honor and achievement,” said Davidson. “It was an amazing surprise, as I expected a larger franchise to win. It goes to show that focusing on your business and doing the right thing by your customers will be rewarded.”
Providing a comfortable price point and having locations dispersed between storefronts and various Walmart store locations were among key items Davidson attributed to his team’s success. He also cites a dedication to continually looking for ways to improve quality of service for new and returning customers.
He added, “I joined Jackson Hewitt because they offer the tools and the system to be a successful franchisee. I encourage other franchisees to embrace this system, share insights on the issues impacting their business, and to also take advantage of the opportunities to network with other franchisees and learn about best practices."
