Jersey Mike's Raises Funds For Wounded Warrior Project At Grand Opening

Owners Celebrate with Free Subs

October 20, 2011 // Franchising.com // Grovetown, GA Jersey Mike’s Subs officially opened its doors in Grovetown. Jersey Mike’s owners Eric Clark and Jason Wren know the importance of community relations and celebrated their new ties with the area during their grand opening on October 12.

To commemorate the event, the new restaurant, located at 4010 Gateway Blvd., hosted a 5-day fundraiser from Wed., Oct. 12 through Sun., Oct. 16, with 100 percent of the contributions supporting the Wounded Warrior Project. Anyone who had a fundraising coupon received a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution. Coupons were distributed throughout the community and in local newspapers.

“We are excited to be opening a Jersey Mike’s Subs and honoring our veterans during our grand opening only makes the experience better,” said Clark. He said that for he and Wren, supporting our nation’s men and women of service was a grateful gesture for “everything our military and military families sacrifice for each one of us and this great nation on a daily basis.”

The purpose of the Wounded Warrior Project is to raise awareness and to enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.

“When you are an active contributor to the community it shows,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO. “We are proud that Eric Clark and Jason Wren are committed to helping the soldiers of this nation and we congratulate them on their new store.”

This is Clark and Wren’s first location with Jersey Mike’s Subs. Clark, who favors Jersey Mike’s Original Italian-#13 Sub, can’t wait to bring the unmistakably fresh product, unmatched quality and genuine atmosphere of Jersey Mike’s to Grovetown. “Building a team and serving the community means a lot to me,” said Clark. “It feels great to teach, watch others learn, and see the self-pride on their faces when they become confident in themselves and what they are doing. Making delicious subs with a 55-year flavor profile takes some time to master.”

When asked for their motto regarding the food business, Clark and Wren agreed with culinary expert Ina Rosenberg Garten (aka the Barefoot Contessa), "Food is not about impressing people. It's about making them feel comfortable."

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.., seven days a week. You can contact this store directly at (706) 650-1806.
