Genghis Grill Launches Healthy Elements Within Its Concept

DALLAS, Oct. 26, 2011 // PRNewswire // -- Genghis Grill – The Mongolian Stir Fry has introduced many healthy initiatives into the concept this past year and continues to let their consumers know what it means to be "hot and healthy".

This past summer, the 77 unit chain launched a brand new nutritional brochure, complete with allergen and nutritional details of all food items in Khan's Kitchen (Genghis Grill's food bar). Also, new food line stickers in Khan's Kitchen will be launched later in the year to alert consumers on the "Big 8" allergens.

"The FDA regulations are going to have a huge impact on how Americans choose what they eat. We want to be ahead of the curve, not only on our labeling but also on our healthy options for our fans," said Jax Sperling, Director of Culinary R&D of Genghis Grill.

Additional healthy elements Genghis Grill has added are the calorie count stickers for the in store signage and the heavy emphasis on the Heart Healthy program. A brand new nutritional calculator on the Genghis Grill official website was also launched this past summer to help consumers define their nutritional intake. Elements like these have been proven useful and successful for the Genghis Grill healthy-conscious fan.

The Asian stir-fry concept continues to promote its healthy elements at the local store level with Health Kwest, the annual healthy-influenced campaign that last year adopted 54 Genghis Grill "khantestants" to eat Genghis Grill everyday for 90 days, promoting its healthy dining options. The 2011 Health Kwest winner, Brandon Sanders from the Genghis Grill in Murfreesboro, TN, lost 60 lbs. during the challenge and continues to maintain his weight loss. 2012 Health Kwest will launch nationwide at the beginning of January to promote healthy dining.

"We will continue to innovate and encourage 'hot and healthy' options without sacrificing flavor combinations that satisfy the demands at a price that is comparable to fast food chains," said Ron Parikh, Chief Marketing Officer for Genghis Grill.
