GRESHAM, Ore., Nov. 14, 2011 // PRNewswire // -- People of Gresham get ready to eat some great barbecue at Dickey's Barbecue Pit. If you live anywhere near 124 NE Third Street, then you need to stop by and enjoy any of Dickey's eight signature slow-smoked meats and ten sides.

"We are in a great location," said local franchise owner Mike Cameron. Cameron owns and operates this location with his wife Teena. "We are really excited to open and to finally let the local community enjoy delicious barbecue."

This is the first location for Oregon. It is located near Gresham High School and right across the street is a community park. This location has been getting great support from their local Albertsons and St. Henry's.

"We wanted to do this as a family. I have my sons Anthony, Dwayne and Mikey Jr. helping out," said Teena Cameron. "We are doing this as a family, just like the Dickey's."

Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened in 1941 and began franchising in 1994. Since then Dickey's has grown at an exponential rate. Currently, there are 186 locations and Dickey's is said to have 200 stores open nationwide by the end of this year.
