Mr. Rooter(R) Named a 'Top 50 Franchising Expert to Follow on Twitter'

In addition to tweeting seasonal tips, the plumbing and drain cleaning company gives advice through its Twitter account at http://twitter.com/MrRooterCorp. They also help Twitter followers fix their plumbing problems.

“Our customers are on Twitter, and we want to be where they are,” said Mary Kennedy Thompson, president of Mr. Rooter Corporation. “While plumbing problems can be stressful in real life, we can make them more enjoyable on social media.”

For example, Mr. Rooter Plumbing held a Frozen Turkey Giveaway in November. Twitter followers and Facebook fans sent in their most disastrous Thanksgiving stories to try to win a frozen turkey.

Mr. Rooter Plumbing also does promotions with its popular Mr. Rooter Action Figure.

“People go crazy over our Mr. Rooter Action Figures, so we like to give them away,” said Fawn Barlow, marketing manager for Mr. Rooter Corporation. “The perfect place to do this is on Twitter and Facebook, because our customers are there.”
