Mr. Rooter® Plumbing Rolls Out "Rolls of Love" Drive For RMHC

WACO, Texas (Feb. 14, 2012) – Imagine the world without toilet paper or hand soap. Many take these everyday items for granted, but one business is making sure an organization has the items they need to care for families staying there.

This Valentine’s Day, Mr. Rooter Plumbing rolled out the “Rolls of Love” Drive for the Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®). They will donate toilet paper, paper towels, toiletries and other household items like soap and laundry detergent that are on the House’s ‘Wish List’.

“These are items you don’t always think about, but they’re a necessity,” said Mary Kennedy Thompson, president of Mr. Rooter LLC. “Since Valentine’s Day is about expressing love, we thought this would be a great time to show our support and give back to this wonderful organization.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) was established in memory of McDonald's® founder and franchise icon Ray Kroc in 1984. The cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House, provides a “home-away-from-home” so families can stay close by while their ill child gets the health care they need.

Mr. Rooter Plumbing will accept donations for the “Rolls of Love” Drive until March 30. Customers can give items to the service professional working on their home’s plumbing or they can be delivered to the office.

“We greatly appreciate the support of generous donors like Mr. Rooter. With Mr. Rooter’s help, we can ensure our guest families don’t have to worry about anything else but the recovery of their child,” said Jennifer Blanchard Smith, senior director RMHC.

The “Rolls of Love” Drive is part of Mr. Rooter Plumbing’s national support to RMHC. For the past two years, Mr. Rooter Plumbing and its affiliate companies – Aire Serv, Glass Doctor, Mr. Appliance, Mr. Electric and The Grounds Guys – have made an annual national commitment of $100,000 to RMHC.
