Mr. Rooter(R) Celebrates "Companies That Care Day" with Donations to RMHC(R)

To celebrate “Companies That Care Day”, Mr. Rooter Plumbing will donate $1 per Twitter follow for the next 100 followers to Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®). 

(PRWEB) March 15, 2012 - To celebrate “Companies That Care Day”, Mr. Rooter Plumbing will donate $1 per Twitter follow for the next 100 followers to Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®). To contribute to Mr. Rooter Plumbing’s donations for RMHC, simply follow them on Twitter at http://www.Twitter.com/MrRooterCorp.

This donation is part of the “Rolls of Love” Drive for Ronald McDonald Houses across North America. Mr. Rooter Plumbing started collecting toilet paper, paper towels and other “Wish List” items on Valentine’s Day.

“We genuinely care about RMHC, and we started this drive because donations are usually down this time of year for non-profits,” said Mary Kennedy Thompson, president of Mr. Rooter LLC. “With ‘Companies That Care Day’ being March 15, this is the ideal time to give even more.”

Mr. Rooter and its affiliate companies – Aire Serv®, Glass Doctor®, Mr. Appliance®, Mr. Electric® and The Ground Guys® – have been a corporate donor since 2010. As part of their national sponsorship, they make an annual donation of $100,000.

RMHC was established in memory of McDonald's® founder and franchise icon Ray Kroc in 1984. The cornerstone program, the Ronald McDonald House®, provides a “home-away-from-home” so families can stay close by while their ill child gets the health care they need.

Since becoming a national donor, Mr. Rooter Plumbing franchise owners have given more than $95,000 in in-kind donations to the Houses in their areas. This includes plumbing services as well as meals for the families staying there.

“RMHC is an organization we all love at Mr. Rooter,” said Fawn Barlow, marketing manager at Mr. Rooter LLC. “We want to give everyone the chance to participate in our ‘Rolls of Love’ Drive, so we thought taking it online with social media would accomplish our goal.”
