Dickey's Barbecue Pit Signs a Lease in Grand Island

GRAND ISLAND, Neb., March 22, 2012 // PRNewswire // -- Dickey's lip smackin' barbecue is heading to Grand Island. Franchise owners Richard and Cheryl Cochran have signed a lease and are ready to begin construction.

"Grand Island is a growing community that knows good beef," said Richard Cochran. "We are excited to be introducing them to great barbecue."

Richard Cochran will own and operate this location with his wife Cheryl. Both were born in North Dakota and lived in the South for over 15 years. Prior to owning a Dickey's, Cheryl worked in the school system and Richard was the Vice President of Schwan's.

"We feel it's time people here get a chance to try a great barbecue restaurant," said Cochran. "We look forward to catering community events, weddings and business meetings."

The new location will be at 217 East Stolley Park Road, located on the south end of the fairground of Fonner Park. The couple hopes to open sometime in May.

Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened its first location in Dallas in 1941. Dickey's began franchising in 1994 and has continued to grow across the country. Dickey's currently has more than 200 locations in 36 states nationwide.
