Dickey's is Firing Up Expansion Plans in Florida

The World's Largest Barbecue Chain Gets Closer to Global Barbecue Domination

WOODVILLE, Fla., March 29, 2012 // PRNewswire // -- Dickey's Barbecue Pit is building momentum all over the state of Florida. The world's largest barbecue chain has four current locations and just signed a new lease in Woodville. Dickey's is also searching for additional sites throughout the state.

Dickey's Barbecue added over 66 stores last year and is planning to add 100 new locations nationwide in 2012. The fast casual franchise just signed a new lease for a space at 8159 Woodville Highway next to the St. Marks Bike Trail for new owners Debra and John Lewis.

"The community seems very excited about Dickey's coming to Woodville," said Debra Lewis, native Floridian and Woodville franchise owner. "We wanted to add a restaurant to our community that offers good old southern barbecue at an affordable price."

Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened its first location in Dallas in 1941. The company began franchising in 1994 and has continued to grow across the country. Dickey's currently has more than 200 locations in 36 states nationwide.
