The World's Largest Barbecue Franchise Signs a Lease in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS, N.D., April 3, 2012 // PRNewswire // -- Dickey's has a lip smackin' new location in Grand Forks. Josh Becker, the franchise owner, is ready to show Grand Forks what great barbecue is all about.

"When I moved to North Dakota, I looked up barbecue and all that came up were Chinese food restaurants," said franchise owner Becker. "There was a desperate need for real barbecue here."

Becker was a pilot in the Air Force. He left because of the overage of officers. He wanted to begin a new chapter in his life and Dickey's seemed to be the perfect fit. His new store is located at 623 Washington Street.

"I knew I wanted to own a barbecue restaurant and I have always loved Dickey's," said Becker. "I also love the fact that Dickey's supports Veterans and respective organizations,"

Dickey's Barbecue Pit opened its first location in Dallas in 1941. Dickey's began franchising in 1994 and has continued to grow across the country. Dickey's currently has more than 200 locations in 36 states nationwide.
