Dickey's Adds More Lip Smackin' Barbecue In New York

Existing Franchise Owners Look for Second Site

QUEENSBURY, N.Y., April 19, 2012 // PRNewswire // -- Dickey's Barbecue is building momentum in New York. In a multi-unit franchise deal, Reid Grubbs will open his second location later this year. This will be the fourth location for world's largest barbecue franchise in the state.

"New York has really embraced our barbecue concept," said Roland Dickey, Jr., president of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. "We've had so much interest in restaurant expansion in the area."

Grubb is a New York City native who now resides in Queensbury close to his existing restaurant. His previous career was in the finance sector. He was looking for a new career adventure when he signed on with Dickey's.

"Response to our first restaurant in Queensbury has been great – we actually have customers who drive 30 miles to eat our barbecue," said Reid Grubb, Dickey's multi-unit franchise owner. "We have customers begging us to open another location in their town. I also never knew how many Texas transplants lived in the area and they get so excited when they see a Dickey's Barbecue."

Dickey's Barbecue is planning to add over 100 new locations nationwide in 2012. As part of this growth strategy the company seeks community leaders and local business owners who have the passion and experience to own a Dickey's Barbecue Pit.
