Rita's Italian Ice Serves Cool Treats at Six Flags America Maryland

Both Brands Dedicated to Keeping Guests Happy

Trevose, PA – April 30, 2012 – Rita's Italian Ice© the nation's largest Italian Ice concept with over 550 stores in 18 states, announced a new partnership with Six Flags America in Bowie, Maryland. The refreshing Italian Ice and creamy frozen custard are now being served at Six Flags America making it the first within the Six Flags theme park chain. This season, Rita’s has two locations in the park where guests can enjoy their signature cool treats: a new stand just outside of Apocalypse, the park’s new stand-up roller coaster, and inside Hurricane Harbor Water Park.

“Rita’s Italian Ice is a very well-liked and respected brand in this area,” said Nate Gross, director of in-park services at Six Flags America Maryland. “So offering Rita’s at the park gives guests another quality brand they know and love, and adds to the variety of food options we serve. It’s a win-win for all. We couldn’t be happier Rita’s is now open at Six Flags America Maryland.”

In preparation of Rita’s opening at the park, several members of Six Flags America’s food service management team attended (and graduated from) Rita’s Cool University. At “Cool U”, a 5,000 square foot, state-of-the-art training center at Rita’s headquarters in Bensalem, PA, the Six Flags team participated in an intensive series of onsite workshops and hands-on training taught by Rita’s Education and Training specialists. These Six Flags employees are now stewards of Rita’s “Ice, Custard and Happiness” brand promise. With this motto, and their freshly made custom treats, Rita’s and Six Flags America are dedicated to keeping their guests happy all season.
