New Franchise Owner Opens Two New Locations in Kearney

KEARNEY, Neb., May 23, 2012 // PRNewswire // -- Get ready to enjoy mouth-watering barbecue in Kearney this week. Franchise owners Richard and Cheryl Cochran are opening their two new locations in Kearney on Thursday, May 24.

"We are excited to be opening," said Richard Cochran. "We can't wait to serve the people of our community great barbecue and we are looking forward to getting to know the Kearney community."

Franchise owners Richard and Cheryl Cochran will operate both locations along with their other Grand Island location, which is coming soon. Prior to owning Dickey's Barbecue, Richard worked for Schwan's for 30 years and served as Vice President and Cheryl was a school administrator.

On Thursday, the Kearney location at 222 West 42nd Street will be serving the first 100 customers a free slow-smoked pulled pork big barbecue sandwiches. The other location is in The Great Platte River Road Archway, which was named Nebraska's Attraction of the Year in 2011.

"The Museum actually came to us and we were thrilled about the opportunity to be in The Archway," said franchise owner Cochran. "People in Kearney are already excited because there is nothing like this in the area."

Cochran plans to host special events in The Archway as well as serve its many daily visitors as the only restaurant in the museum. Both Kearney locations will be available to cater community events such as business luncheons and weddings.
