World's Largest Barbecue Franchise Will Open First Location in the Garden State

TOMS RIVER, N.J., June 6, 2012 // PRNewswire // -- Dickey's Barbecue is bringing lip smackin' barbecue to New Jersey. The world's largest barbecue chain today announced the addition of New Jersey as its 44th state by adding Meg Morales as its newest franchise owner.

"New Jersey will be an excellent market for our slow smoked barbecue," said Roland Dickey, Jr., president of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. "We know the great folks in New Jersey will love our Texas-style barbecue and we look forward starting a new barbecue addiction in the state."

Over the past 20 years, Morales enjoyed a marketing and communications career in the financial services industry. With her Puerto Rican heritage, she was naturally drawn to the restaurant and catering industry.

"I love barbecue and there is nothing like Dickey's in New Jersey," said new franchise owner Morales. "I come from a long line of people who love to cook – my culture puts a great emphasis on the good feelings that come from a great meal."

Morales is looking for locations in the Toms River area and hopes to have a lease in place soon.

"Dickey's has already made me feel like family," said Morales. "They have a great organization and I'm happy to be a part of it."
