June 15, 2012 // Franchising.com // Indianapolis, IN - Ron and Libby Firanek along with Mary Sutherland and Stuart Sutherland will open the first Pancheros Mexican Grill in Indiana in September at 4335 East 82nd St. in Indianapolis. The Firaneks and the Sutherlands are excited to launch their family business out of the ashes of a surprising lay-off.
After more than 20 years in sales, Ron was let go due to corporate downsizing and was at a loss trying to find a career he was passionate about. Libby, who was a stay-at-home mom for the past 11 years, was also ready to dive back into the working world.
Indianapolis’s Pancheros will truly be a family-owned business. The Firaneks are joined by Libby’s mother, Mary Sutherland, and her brother, Stuart Sutherland, in addition to Stuart’s wife Nancy. Stuart, who has over 30 years of successful experience in the restaurant industry, led the Firaneks to Pancheros. Each member of the family will act as a business partner in the venture.
“The decision to open Pancheros came at the perfect time for us,” said Libby. “Ron and I were looking for a way to use our skills and build upon something together. We were fortunate to find a great concept that supports our beliefs and standards. We can’t wait to share Pancheros with the community.”
The group FS1Indy - River's Edge plans on opening six more Pancheros within the Indy North and Hamilton County regions.
