Dickey's Barbecue Is Heating Up In Arizona

World's Largest Barbecue Franchise Has Smokin' Expansion Plans

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 20, 2012 // PRNewswire // -- Dickey's Barbecue Pit is bringing more heat to Arizona. The barbecue franchise that boasts lip smackin' barbecue currently has two locations in Arizona and another set to open in Scottsdale this week. Two additional locations will open in Phoenix and Gilbert later this year.

"We were the first Dickey's in Arizona and have seen incredible growth of the brand in the last 5 years," said Mitch Bailey, owner of Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Scottsdale. "We've had great support from the city, schools, local sports teams, and the community."
Existing franchise owner, Tom Emmons, is currently looking at sites for his second location. Emmons is a former Marine who lived in both Texas and Kansas City before opening his current location in Mesa.

"In the Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert area we have customers from all over the nation and most already know how great Dickey's Barbecue is," said Emmons. "It's rewarding getting to know the customers and seeing how much they love our food."

Franchise owner Erik Forrest will be opening his location in Scottsdale this Thursday, June 21. In honor of this special day he will be giving the first 100 customers a free pulled pork big barbecue sandwich. His location is located at 7919 E. Thomas Road. This will be the second Dickey's location in Scottsdale; the other is off of Shea Boulevard and owned by Mitch Bailey.

Dickey's Barbecue added 70 new locations last year and is planning to add 100 more nationwide in 2012. With every new restaurant, the company creates additional jobs for brokers, construction companies, and the city itself. This is great news for Arizona.
