Maui Wowi Hawaiian Gets Solar Powered at the San Antonio Solar Fest

Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees & Smoothies focuses on sustainability at the 10th Annual Solar Fest in San Antonio, Texas, serving its all-natural smoothies and Hawaiian coffees.

Greenwood Village, Colo. (PRWEB) October 04, 2012 - Maui Wowi Hawaiianplans to get solar powered at the San Antonio Solar Fest, Saturday, October 6, 2012. The coffee and smoothie franchise company will be a vendor at the environmentally focused event, serving its all-natural, fresh fruit smoothies, and premium gourmet Hawaiian coffees. Last year’s event was powered by solar and soy-based biodiesels, including exhibitor booths, according to their website. Franchise Owner, Miles Erwin hopes to follow suit and run his blenders the all-natural way.

“We’re excited to have the chance to see if it’s possible to power our mobile cart using solar energy,” said Erwin. “I would love to have the first solar powered Ka’anapali Cart.”

The mobile Ka’anapali Cart is one of several flexible Maui Wowi business models and allows Erwin to take his business on the road. “This is one of our first big events and we can’t wait to get started. We are looking forward to bringing the Maui Wowi brand to San Antonio,” said Erwin.

Maui Wowi will shine with its island vibe and tropical drinks, bringing even more sunshine to the Solar Fest. Erwin will be operating his coffee and smoothie stand at the event on Saturday and plans to get involved promoting the festival’s message of environmental sustainability.

“We will be composting all our coffee grounds and banana peels, as well as encouraging everyone to recycle their empty Maui Wowi plastic and paper cups,” said Erwin. “Sustainability is important because it will help protect our planet and environment for future generations. It also helps individuals lower their energy costs and most importantly, reduces our carbon footprint.”

The 10th Annual Solar Fest will feature demonstrations, exhibitors, hybrid and electric vehicles, as well as food and fun for the whole family. The event is free and open to the public. Solar Fest will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Lion’s Field Park in San Antonio, Texas from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be coupled with the Solar Tour event on Sunday, October 7.
