East Coast Sub Sensation Opens First Location in Frisco

Owner Celebrates Grand Opening with Free Subs

October 19, 2012 // Franchising.com // FRISCO, Texas – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in Frisco on October 17.  Franchise owner Steve Zeigler held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, October 17 to Sunday, October 21 to support the Frisco Education Foundation.

The new restaurant, located at 5110 Eldorado Parkway, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community, offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Frisco Education Foundation.

The Frisco Education Foundation (FEF) is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization working in partnership with the Frisco Independent School District and the Frisco area community to enhance the educational opportunities of students.  The FEF has awarded more than $2.6 million worth of scholarship funds since 1999, when it held its first scholarship night.  In addition, the FEF has awarded $244,000 in grant money to educators to carry out “Great Ideas” in the classroom.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike’s continued its steady growth in 2011 opening 69 new restaurants throughout the country, a 15 percent increase overall.  The popular sub shop wins best sub awards in virtually every market it enters.

Steve Zeigler exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community.  In 2011, locations throughout the country raised more than $2 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 200,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

"We are proud to bring Jersey Mike's Subs to a dynamic city such as Frisco and we look forward to being involved in the community,” said Zeigler.   Giving back is a key ingredient in differentiating Jersey Mike's as well as the Zeigler Family.  Supporting education and finding the potential in our students is a fundamental aspect of making a difference.  By partnering with Frisco Education Foundation, we are investing in students’ futures and providing additional educational opportunities for our youth."

Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way™ with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices.  The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread.  Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago.  The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.

This is the third Jersey Mike’s location for Steve Zeigler.  He operates two locations in Plano which he opened in October 2008 and June 2009.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this store directly at (972) 668-6003.
