East Coast Sub Sensation Opens Ninth Location in Nashville

Owner Celebrates Grand Opening with Free Subs

October 19, 2012 // Franchising.com // NASHVILLE – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in Nashville on October 10. Franchise owner Chris Herndon held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, October 10 to Sunday, October 14 to support the Chron’s and Colitis Foundation of America Tennessee Chapter.

The new restaurant, located at 2184 Bandywood Drive, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Chron’s and Colitis Foundation of America Tennessee Chapter.

The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA) is a non-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to finding cures for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the quality of life for children and adults affected by these digestive diseases. It was founded in 1967 by Irwin M. and Suzanne Rosenthal, William D. and Shelby Modell, and Henry D. Janowitz, M.D. Currently the Foundation has over 50,000 members as well as over 40 chapters nationwide.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike’s continued its steady growth in 2011 opening 69 new restaurants throughout the country, a 15 percent increase overall. The popular sub shop wins best sub awards in virtually every market it enters.

Chris Herndon exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. In 2011, locations throughout the country raised more than $2 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 200,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

“At Jersey Mike’s we strive to deliver the highest quality product and make a difference in the communities we serve,” said Herndon. “Having a family member with Chron’s disease makes supporting the Chron’s and Colitis Foundation the perfect way to give back and help fight a disease that hits close to home.”

Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way™ with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.

This is the fifth Jersey Mike’s location for Chris Herndon. He entered the Jersey Mike’s system in November 1998, when he purchased an existing location in Nashville. He owns two additional locations in Nashville, opened in 1999 and 2009, and a location in Hermitage opened in 1999.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. You can contact this store directly at (615) 942-9372.
