Maui Wowi Grants Military Veteran a New Opportunity as a Franchise Business Owner

Maui Wowi Hawaiian, http://www.mauiwowifranchise.com, brings on board its newest franchisee, Zach Dunbar, who plans to bring his years of experience and service to his new venture with Maui Wowi.

Greenwood Village, CO (PRWEB) November 03, 2012 - From serving his country to serving the Aloha spirit, Zach Dunbar was recently awarded a franchise by Maui Wowi Hawaiian, becoming the company’s newest franchisee and most recent veteran to join the system.

“I have always had a dream of opening a coffee shop,” said Dunbar. “What sets Maui Wowi apart from other franchises we looked at is the coffee and smoothie combination. They provide widely recognized and delicious products, have an island themed atmosphere, and we can wear Hawaiian shirts year round.”

Recently retired after 24 years in law enforcement for the New York State Police Department, Dunbar has a background rich in experience. Not only did he serve the people of New York as an investigator, Dunbar also served in the military as a United States Marine. Both careers provided him with tools and skills that he has now decided to put to use fulfilling another lifelong dream; business ownership.

“Since retiring, I have been living the laidback lifestyle. Maui Wowi offers the best opportunity for me and my family because it focuses on ‘ohana (family), fun, hard work, and gives me an opportunity for personal and financial growth,” he said.

Dunbar currently lives in Rochester, New York but plans to relocate to Raleigh, North Carolina where he has chosen to start his business with a fixed retail location that has the inviting atmosphere of an island style retreat. He also plans to focus on driving business to the location through catering and mobile events using the Ka’anapali Cart, a mobile unit that can be easily taken into festivals, fairs, venues, and a variety of other outlets.

Dunbar is the fifth veteran franchise agreement that has been granted this year by Maui Wowi, which continues to actively promote its Military Giveback Program. The company recently announced a 20% discount off the franchise fee for the men and women who have served in the U.S. military; the discount is available if awarded a franchise before the end of 2012. Maui Wowi has been named a Military Friendly Franchise for the last three years by G.I. Jobs Magazine, which ranks it in the top 10% of franchises nationwide.
