November 19, 2012 // Franchising.com // WACO, Texas - The Dwyer Group, Inc., one of the world’s largest franchising companies of trades service brands, has appointed Steve Truett to the newly-created position of vice president of business development for national accounts.
In his new role, Truett is in charge of sales for national accounts, a growing segment of revenue and business across all service brands for The Dwyer Group as large corporations look for one source to handle emergency service and repair calls from coast to coast.
“The demand from insurance companies, national corporations and other businesses that stretch the country needing the maintenance and repair skills that our franchise brands provide is a growing opportunity,” said Mike Bidwell, president and chief operating officer of The Dwyer Group. “Steve has the knowledge and the contacts to build those relationships, which will drive business to our franchisees across the country.”
A past member of The Dwyer Group executive team, Truett’s new position brings him back to a franchise environment he knows well with some added national business expertise to his credit.
Truett previously served as vice president of national brands for ReachLocal, Inc. (NASDAQ: RLOC), based in Plano, Texas, where he built a division to help multi-location national brands with online marketing and lead acquisition. Prior to that, he was the vice president of marketing for The Dwyer Group and, before that, president of WWS, a promotional products company at The Dwyer Group. Early in his executive career, he also held the position of president of T-Shirts Plus, based in Waco.
