World's Largest Barbecue Franchise Opens New Location in Minnesota This Thursday

MANKATO, Minn., Dec. 5, 2012 // PRNewswire // - This Thursday, December 6, Dickey's Barbecue Pit will open for business at its newest location at the main intersection of Madison Avenue and Victory Boulevard. Be one of the first 100 customers in line and receive a free Pulled Pork Big Barbecue sandwich.

"The more we learned about Dickey's food, their service model and the commitment to local communities, we just knew that Mankato would be a great place for our quick serve barbecue business," said local franchise owner Paul Bertino. "We can't wait to bring authentic barbecue to the area."

Paul Bertino will run this location with his wife Paula who will be the general manager. Paul is originally from New York and Paula is from Iowa. They have raised a family in Mankato for the past 15 years.

Prior to owning a Dickey's, Paul held a positions in sales, marketing and product management with Johnson & Johnson, Avery Dennison and Hickory Tech. Paula had a career as a programmer/software developer with Parker Hannifin, Brown Printing and Superior Edge.

"Mankato is a city on the go," said Paul Bertino. "Quick, convenient food options are important to the community. Whether by catering, take-out or eating in, Mankato will learn that our barbecue deserves to be one of their regular meal options."

This past July, Famous Dave's closed down in Mankato, leaving the community without a barbecue joint. But no worries, Dickey's is now located at 501 Holly Lane, Suite 150 and the store phone number is 507-625-4BBQ.
