Maui Wowi Franchisee Raises Money for Make-A-Wish Foundation

Illinois Maui Wowi Hawaiian Franchisee donated over $1200 at a gymnastic tournament to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Greenwood Village, Colo. (PRWEB) December 19, 2012 - An Illinois Franchisee of Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees & Smoothiesrecently donated over $1200 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation as part of the Ultimate Gymnastics Tournament that was held November 30-December 2, 2012 at Harper College. The 13th Annual Ultimate Wish Classic has raised over $400,000 for the charitable foundation.

“Ultimate Gymnastics puts in a lot of work and they donate everything. It’s great to be a part of this event, knowing the money goes to help grant the wishes of terminally ill children. It’s an excellent cause to give to,” said Tawn Makela, Maui Wowi Franchise Operator in Illinois.

Over the three days of competitions, Makela worked from her mobile Maui Wowi cart serving gymnasts and spectators made to order fresh fruit smoothies and hot cups of Hawaiian coffee. From her sales, 25% of her net profits were donated, along with her entry fee, raising approximately $1200 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Maui Wowi Franchisees actively participate in helping organizations raise money for good causes through the company’s No-Work Fundraising Program. Schools, churches, non-profits, and other charitable organizations can request Maui Wowi to work their fundraising event, in which a portion of the money from it is donated back to the organization. The Make-A-Wish Foundation has been making dreams come true since 1980.
