Huddle House Continues Brand Advancement with New Restaurant Prototype, Menu Innovation and Aggressive Expansion

Industry Veteran Michael Abt Appointed as CEO to Lead Continued Growth and Development

ATLANTA (PRWEB) December 19, 2012 - With a new restaurant design, fresh menu offerings and an aggressive expansion plan, Huddle House, the 400-unit, full-service family restaurant chain is a segment leader in product innovation and growth. To spearhead continued growth and innovation, the Huddle House Board of Directors has appointed Michael Abt as CEO, an industry veteran with extensive experience developing and building out brands.

“This is an extraordinary time for Huddle House,” said Abt. “As a result of the great strides the brand has taken under previous leadership, we are positioned for significant and continued growth. I’m very honored and excited to help lead these initiatives as we elevate Huddle House as a pioneer in the segment.”

As CEO, Abt will play a major role in the Huddle House evolution. A new restaurant design, which is also being adopted by existing locations through a reimaging program, is delivering sales increases of up to 35%. Newly-released menu items, like Scrambles, Stuffed Hash Browns and the Steak House Favorites, have also contributed to the success and popularity of the brand. Further, Huddle House’s plans for aggressive expansion include opening over 100 new locations within the next 5 years.

“Exceeding customer expectations and providing franchisee support have always been, and will continue to be, our highest priorities,” Abt said. “By offering a contemporary design for new builds and remodels, adding new menu items and developing relevant, value driven promotions, Huddle House provides franchisees with the resources required to meet the increasing needs of our customers.”

With an extensive history in the restaurant industry, which includes a number of senior management positions, Abt has the experience to boost these initiatives. Most recently, he was the Senior Vice President of Operations at Arby’s Restaurant Group, a 3,500-unit global fast food company where he was directly responsible for all 1,200 company-owned restaurants and the profitability of over $1 billion in annual revenue.

“We are excited for Michael to lead the long-term development of Huddle House while finding new ways to connect with our guests and operators,” said Ken Keymer, former Huddle House CEO, who returns to his role as a member of the Huddle House Board of Directors. “The Board and I look forward to watching Michael and the senior team elevate the brand throughout 2012 and beyond.”
