Twin Peaks to Expand its Scenic Views into East and Central Texas

Ultimate man-cave concept signs multi-unit development agreement to grow Texas, Louisiana presence.

December 20, 2012 // Franchising.com // DALLAS – Twin Peaks Restaurants recently announced that the ultimate man-cave sports lodge has awarded a multi-unit development agreement to expand its presence across East and Central Texas, as well as areas of northern Louisiana.

Chalak Peaks Restaurants, LLC, signed a six-store agreement to develop Twin Peaks in Texarkana, Tyler, Longview, Killeen/Temple, Waco and Shreveport over the next several years.

With 28 locations open in 13 states, Twin Peaks is a sports-themed restaurant known for its rugged mountain lodge atmosphere, homemade comfort food, 29 degree draft beer, high-definition televisions and – its most prized assets – the Twin Peaks Girls.

The Chalak Peaks group is comprised of a team of experienced restaurateurs who have been involved in the restaurant industry since 1998. The group owns and operates 260 different restaurant concepts nationwide, including Baker Bros-American Deli, Genghis Grill and Pepper Smash, as well as multiple Yum! Brand restaurants such as KFC, Taco Bell and Long John Silvers.

“This agreement speaks volumes to the brand equity that Twin Peaks is building in the industry,” said Shannon Glaser, Twin Peaks’ Director of Franchise Development. “To have other franchisors with the talent of the Chalak group take notice and want to be a part of growing with Twin Peaks as a franchisee is quite an accomplishment. We are very excited to have them on board and know they will be excellent franchise partners.”

The Chalak Peaks team is currently looking at possible sites for it’s first Twin Peaks location and plans to have a restaurant open by mid-2013.

“These areas of Texas and Louisiana are untapped markets for Twin Peaks,” said Al Bhakta, CEO of the Chalak Group and spokesperson for Chalak Peaks. “Fans in these towns are looking for a newer, updated sports restaurant that provides a high-quality product and an exceptional experience, and that is exactly what Twin Peaks brings to the table.”

Based in Dallas, the Chalak Peaks team has been aware of Twin Peaks since the first location opened in the neighboring city of Lewisville in 2005. Bhakta will be hiring a dedicated President and Operating Partner to run the Twin Peaks division of their company.

“I’ve been tracking Twin Peaks’ progress since the beginning and have always been interested in the concept,” added Bhakta. “It has the entire package from the mountain-lodge theme to the emphasis on super cold beer, and the amazing service provided by the Twin Peaks Girls. The competition is lagging way behind and we felt that now was the time to get involved because there is a huge opportunity for success.”
