Greenwood Village, Colo. (PRWEB) January 09, 2013 - Maui Wowi Hawaiian, the premier choice in Hawaiian Coffee and all-natural fresh fruit smoothies, has always put family at the forefront of its values; often referring to ‘Ohana, which is Hawaiian for family, and the importance of having flexibility in your life. The company’s franchise opportunities caught the eye of Eric Rilko and his wife, Holley as they searched to find the right business that would allow them to regain their freedom and quality time with their family. The Rilkos have been awarded by Maui Wowi with the most recent franchise agreement and are eager to begin building their own piece of paradise in Nashville, Tenn.
“It’s going to be a wonderful change for me to be able to put my stamp on this and get back to relaxing and enjoying my life and what’s most important to me, my family,” said Eric Rilko. “Maui Wowi had everything my wife and I were looking for in a franchise; low startup cost, fun lively atmosphere, and year-round demand.”
The burnout of working most of his life in the corporate restaurant industry influenced Eric to pursue a dream to be his own boss. The support of a franchise appealed to both Eric and Holley because it could provide them with the guidance they would need as they embarked on this new adventure.
“The thought of starting a business completely on my own made me realize the importance of having support as a first time business owner and so we decided that franchising was the right path for us,” he said.
The dual concept of coffee and smoothies was the other deciding factor because they knew they would have two ways to capture business throughout the year. Premium Hawaiian coffee and healthy, fresh fruit smoothies, made it easy for the Rilko’s to identify how to satisfy customers during both the winter and summer months.
The Rilkos are excited to begin with a fixed kiosk in a shopping mall and eventually envision growing into multiple units that could potentially include a mobile event cart, which they plan to use to drive more business to their fixed locations.
Eric has been in the restaurant industry for years doing everything from waiting tables, to working his way up into guest relations, marketing and social media management. Holley has a background in child development and has been focused on raising their two sons. She plans to play an integral part in their Maui Wowi business by using her networking skills and connections to build relationships in the community and further their business opportunities.
“We’re pretty laidback individuals and we can’t wait to enjoy more balance in our lives. We’re looking forward to being able to attend our kid’s sporting events; we’re going to throw on our Maui Wowi shirts and go to soccer games. It’s going to be fun,” said Holley.
