Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Will Assume the Title of President

OKLAHOMA CITY - Jan. 25, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Sonic Corp. (NASDAQ: SONC), the nation's largest chain of drive-in restaurants, today announced that Scott McLain, the company's President, will resign from the position effective March 31, 2013. McLain will continue to serve the company in a transition role through the end of June 2013. The company also announced that, upon McLain's resignation as President, Cliff Hudson, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, will assume the title of President, and McLain's responsibilities will be allocated among current and prospective members of management.

McLain joined Sonic in 1996 as Treasurer, was named Chief Financial Officer in 1997 and President in 2004.
