Electrical Franchise Mr. Electric Awards 18 New Franchises in 2012

Waco, Texas (PRWEB) January 30, 2013 - Franchisor Mr. Electric expanded its franchise base by awarding 18 new franchise contracts during 2012. Mr. Electric provides electrical installation and repair services to residential and commercial clients through its approximately 170 locations throughout the U.S., Canada, and U.K.

Notably, Mr. Electric established its first franchise location in Maine, Mr. Electric of Greater Portland, and strengthened its Mid-Atlantic presence through the addition of three new markets in Tennessee and two in Virginia.

Many new franchise owners in 2012 added a Mr. Electric franchise as a diversification to an electrical business servicing industrial or new construction clients.

“Many electricians recognized that they were overexposed to market fluctuations by having too narrow a focus, and looked to Mr. Electric as a way to diversify into the residential service market,” said Ronnie Musick, Franchise Development Team Lead for Mr. Electric. “We also had a higher number of startups than usual this year as individuals continue to have limited opportunity for growth in stagnant companies, and pursue business opportunities instead.”

Growth in the electrical services industry is expected to pick up in 2013. As new construction slowly returns, more homeowners will look to make home improvements, including installing generators to protect against future “superstorms.”

In the fourth quarter of 2012, Mr. Electric awarded three new franchises, scheduled to open in spring 2013:

• Kenneth Lanza, Mr. Electric of W Monroe County, North Chili, N.Y.
• Barry Ford, Mr. Electric of Greater Victoria, Victoria, B.C.
• Brad Edler, Mr. Electric of NW Illinois, Lena, Ill.
