February 15, 2013 - Purcellville, Va. - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in Purcellville on February 6. Franchise owner Greg Switaj held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, February 6 to Sunday, February 10 to support Loudon Valley High School, Woodgrove High School, Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company and Purcellville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
The new restaurant, located at 150 B Purcellville Gateway Drive, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Loudon Valley High School, Woodgrove High School, Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company and Purcellville Volunteer Rescue Squad.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.
Greg Switaj exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised more than $5 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
“At Jersey Mike’s we are committed to making a difference in the community,” said Switaj. “This grand opening fundraiser has given me an opportunity to partner with Loudon Valley High School, Woodgrove High School, Purcellville Volunteer Fire Company, and Purcellville Rescue Squad. Having the ability to team up with these schools and organizations is so rewarding and I am looking forward to Jersey Mike’s becoming an integral part of the Purcellville community.”
Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way™ with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.
This is the fourth Jersey Mike’s location for Greg Switaj. In July 2010, he opened his first Jersey Mike’s location in Leesburg. Switaj is also the owner of additional locations in Ashburn and Sterling.
