Milford Chamber Names SUBWAY® World Headquarters Corporate Citizen of the Year

Milford, CT – (March 15, 2013) – SUBWAY® World Headquarters, located in Milford, Connecticut, was recently awarded the Corporate Citizen of the Year Award by the Milford Chamber of Commerce.

This award is presented to good corporate citizens exhibiting a commitment to the business climate of the city of Milford through continued growth, expansion, inspiration and success. SUBWAY® World Headquarters received the honor due to local community outreach efforts, notable international expansion, and continued success as one of the leading franchisors in the world.

SUBWAY® President and Co-Founder Fred DeLuca accepted the award at the Milford Chamber of Commerce’s 58th Annual Awards of Distinction. “This award and the success of the brand would not have been achieved without a great team in place. It is an honor to be recognized by the city of Milford, which has been Subway’s home for over 30 years.”

The chain’s 900 plus Milford-based employees, along with team members from regional offices in Australia, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East, work to support more than 38,000 SUBWAY® restaurants in 100 countries. Company employees take pride in participating in local community events such as American Heart Association Heart Walks, charity 5Ks, and donating food, pet supplies, and toys to various food banks, shelters, and other worthy causes.
