Owner Celebrates Grand Opening with Free Subs

April 10, 2013 // Franchising.com // South Elgin - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in South Elgin on April 3. Franchise owner Jim Shipman held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, April 3 to Sunday, April 7 to support the St. Charles North High School Central Boosters and the South Elgin High School Boosters.

The new restaurant, located at 469 Redington Drive, will circulate 8,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to St. Charles North High School Central Boosters and the South Elgin High School Boosters.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Jim Shipman exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. This is the third Jersey Mike’s location for Jim Shipman. In June 2010, he opened his first Jersey Mike’s location in Geneva. Shipman is the owner of an additional location in St. Charles which opened in April 2011.
