Nation’s Fastest Growing Fast Casual Restaurant Serves $1 Sandwiches at Louisiana Location

COVINGTON, La. - April 17, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Dickey’s Barbecue Pit is throwing a grand opening celebration on Friday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Covington. The locally owned and operated barbecue restaurant will be serving $1 Pulled Pork Big Barbecue sandwiches and Roland Dickey, chairman of Dickey’s Barbecue, will be giving the first 50 guests a copy of his new book, “Mr. Dickey’s Barbecue Cookbook.”

“We’ve quickly become the top barbecue restaurant on the Northshore,” said franchise owner Alex Hill. “We’re proud that a great majority of our guests are repeat customers.”

Prior to owning a Dickey's, Hill was with Hyatt Hotels for 18 years, including 5 years as the Corporate Director of Food and Beverage. Together with his wife Lindsay, they are excited to raise their 2-year old son Jack in the Mandeville/Covington area.

“We’ve received such overwhelming support from our community,” said Hill. “People have fallen in love with our authentic pit smoked barbecue, home-style sides and family friendly environment.”

This location is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Dickey’s Barbecue serves up beef brisket, pulled pork, barbecue honey ham, polish sausage, spicy cheddar sausage, turkey and chicken, with an extensive array of home-style sides from jalapeno beans to macaroni and cheese. Don’t forget kids eat free on Sunday and free ice cream is offered every day.

This restaurant is in the River Chase Shopping Center off of Highway 21 and the store phone number is (985) 871-2225. Dickey’s now has online ordering available.
