Hooters Offers Free Wings to Military on Memorial Day

World-famous wing destination offers free wings to thank our nation’s active duty and veteran heroes.

ATLANTA - May 21, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Hooters of America, LLC, today announced it will honor the nation’s best and bravest by dishing up a special Memorial Day wing deal. On Monday, May 27, military veterans and active duty military will enjoy 10 free wings with any drink purchase at Hooters locations across the U.S.

In addition to the Memorial Day offer, Hooters Girls in select locations across the nation will show their appreciation for our servicemen and women by wearing a military-inspired uniform, complete with digital camouflage shorts.

Military members are invited to choose from Hooters world-famous traditional or boneless chicken wings with buffalo sauce favorites, ranging in heat from mild to 911, as well as new signature sauces on select Hooters menus, such as teriyaki-style samurai, lemon pepper and chipotle honey.

“The Memorial Day wing deal is just one way for Hooters to serve those who have risked their lives to serve us,” said Dave Henninger, chief marketing officer, Hooters of America. “With our legendary wings, relaxed atmosphere and Hooters Girl hospitality, we can’t think of a better way to say ‘thank you’ to our veterans and active duty service members.”

Hooters has strongly supported the military community for years, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for non-profit military organizations. From now through June 24, Hooters is giving guests the opportunity to join its inaugural Hooters for Heroes™ fundraising effort, raising money and awareness for military non-profit organizations dedicated to U.S. veterans and their families.

Donations to the Hooters for Heroes campaign will benefit the Green Beret Foundation, a non-profit organization that addresses the needs of wounded, ill and injured members of the Special Forces community and their families and Killed in Action Green Beret families.

The Memorial Day deal is available at any Hooters restaurant location across the United States. No coupon is required to activate the deal but dine-in guests must show proof of service or a military ID.
