TORONTO, ONTARIO - (Marketwired - May 31, 2013) - Here's the scoop of the day: Baskin-Robbins, the world's largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, will sell 2.5 oz scoops of ice cream tomorrow for just 31¢ as part of a campaign to thank guests for their patronage and support one of the world's leading paediatric hospitals. The sweet discount will be offered on June 1st from noon to 5 p.m. at the 74 Baskin-Robbins locations in the Greater Toronto Area, along with balloon twisting, face painting and live entertainment at select participating locations. The event will also kick off a month-long fundraising drive to benefit SickKids Foundation, which raises funds on behalf of The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto.
"We're proud of our more than 40 year heritage in Canada and are so grateful to our loyal guests in Toronto and its neighboring communities," said Bill Mitchell, President, Baskin-Robbins U.S. and Canada. "We're excited to give back to our guests with our 'Cones for the Community' celebration this weekend, and look forward to supporting the local community with our month-long fundraising drive to benefit SickKids Foundation."
As part of the "Cones for the Community" event, Baskin-Robbins franchisees throughout the Greater Toronto Area have donated $3,100 to SickKids Foundation and will collect in-store donations throughout the month of June to benefit the Foundation.
