Denny’s Congratulates James Wines on Receiving the National Design Award for Lifetime Achievement
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - June 4, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Denny’s, Inc. (NASDAQ: DENN), one of America's largest full-service restaurant chains, is pleased to congratulate James Wines for receiving the National Design Award for Lifetime Achievement. The Lifetime Achievement Award is given in recognition of a distinguished individual who has made a profound and long-term contribution to the contemporary practice of design. James Wines is founder and president of SITE, a New York-based architectural studio, and he and his firm designed “Denny's on Fremont,” flagship restaurant location in Las Vegas.

The National Design Awards include ten jury-selected award categories and they were created by the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum to honor achievement in American design. Wines will receive the award at the National Design Awards gala in New York on Oct. 17.
Wines has designed over 150 projects and each site-specific and environmentally oriented structure emphasizes context. He is a Professor of Architecture at Pennsylvania State University and author of several books including De-Architecture and Green Architecture.
