Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

June 21, 2013 - Blaine, MN - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in Blaine on June 12. Franchise owners John Griparis and Jeff Berns held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, June 12 to Sunday, June 16 to support the National Sports Center Foundation and the Blaine Soccer Club.

The new restaurant, located at 10340 Baltimore Street N.E., circulated coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to National Sports Center Foundation or Blaine Soccer Club.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

The National Sports Center is the world's largest amateur sports and meeting facility. The NSC campus operates over 100 unique programs and events in a variety of sports as well as hosting numerous national and international competitions annually that in total draw over 4 million visitors a year.

The Blaine Soccer Club is a community-based recreational and traveling soccer program that is open to all residents of Independent School District #16 and #11 as well as other surrounding communities. Blaine Soccer Club is affiliated with the City of Blaine Parks and Recreation Department and the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association (MYSA).

Griparis and Berns exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence. This is the eighth Jersey Mike’s location for Griparis and Berns. In April 2009, they opened their first Jersey Mike’s location in Vernon Hills, Ill. This will be their third location in Minnesota and they also own five locations in Illinois.
