Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

July 11, 2013 - El Segundo, CA - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in El Segundo on July 10. Franchise owners Garen Khodaverdian and Artie Maidman held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, July 10 to Sunday, July 14 to support the El Segundo Education Foundation.

The new restaurant, located at 530A N. Sepulveda Boulevard, circulated 15,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to El Segundo Education Foundation.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Khodaverdian and Maidman exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. This is the third Jersey Mike’s location for Khodaverdian and Maidman. In March 2009, they opened their first Jersey Mike’s location in Hawthorne. The pair owns an additional location in Torrance which opened in January 2011.
