Jersey Mike's Subs Opens 1st Pittsburgh Location

Owner Celebrates Grand Opening with Free Subs

July 12, 2013 // Franchising.com // Pittsburgh, PA - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled East Coast-style subs, officially opened its doors in Pittsburgh on July 10. Franchise owner Tim Surati held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, July 10 to Sunday, July 14 to support the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania.

The new restaurant, located at 7390 McKnight Road, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Surati exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

This is the second Jersey Mike’s location for Surati. In June 1997, he opened his first Jersey Mike’s in Cranberry Township.
