Retiring Serviceman Now Serving His Community Dickey’s Barbecue

Nation’s Fastest Growing Barbecue Concept Opens New Location in Mississippi

D’IBERVILLE, Miss. - July 16, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Dickey’s in D’Iberville is throwing a three day celebration from Thursday, July 18 through Saturday, July 20 with a special appearance on Saturday by Roland Dickey, chairman of Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. Dickey will be stopping by the new Dickey’s in D’Iberville to giveaway copies of his book, “Mr. Dickey’s Barbecue Cookbook.”

“There’s a real desire for outstanding slow-smoked, quick-served barbecue on the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said owner John Lockett. “I served my country and now I’m happy to be the one serving barbecue to my community.”

After serving 22 years in the United States Air Force and Mississippi Air National Guard, John Lockett was ready to fulfill the American dream of owning his own business. Thursday kicks off a bigger than Texas celebration! The first 50 customers will receive a Dickey’s gift card fully loaded with up to $50. The next 100 customers that walk through the door will receive a FREE Meal Plate Voucher with the purchase of a drink.

Friday, July 19

The party continues with more Dickey’s Barbecue giveaways. The first 100 customers will receive a free Big Yellow Cup of Miss Ollie’s Tea. Doors open at 11 a.m.

Saturday, July 20

Join Kicker 108 for $2 Pulled Pork Big Barbecue sandwiches from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dickey’s will hold a drawing for free barbecue for an entire year. Three winners will be chosen and one lucky guest will win a $500 gift card to Dickey’s.
