Russo’s Restaurants Names Ali Elalayet Executive Chef of the United Arab Emirates
Seasoned International Hotel Restaurant Chef to Manage Three Italian Eateries

“Ali has had a remarkable career as a chef in Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates and we are excited to have him join our brand,” said Chef Anthony Russo, a formally-trained chef who opened his first Russo’s New York Pizzeria in 1992 and later developed Russo’s Coal-Fired Italian Kitchen. “We have all the confidence in the world that he will flourish in his new role with Russo’s.”
In his new position, Elalayet will manage the kitchens at the three Russo’s locations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The company’s Russo’s New York Pizzerias are in Abu Dubai, Dubai and Sharjah. Additional locations are slated for Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Qatar in the months ahead.
Elalayet started his culinary career in 1990 working for hotels in his native Tunisia. He later moved to Dubai and became an executive chef with Armani Café.
“I am an Italian food lover. Ever since I can remember, I have been creating pastas and pizzas in my kitchen,” said Elalayet, who is 41 years old. “When the opportunity with Russo’s presented itself, I knew it was the perfect fit. I have been tracking their growth in the UAE and I am excited to be a part of it.”
Russo’s New York Pizzeria and Russo’s Coal-Fired Italian Kitchen have become synonymous with authentic Italian meals.
