Women in the Trades Announces First Scholarship Winners; Second Deadline Approaching

The Dwyer Group Announces Winners of Women in the Trades Scholarship and August 15 Deadline for Second Evaluation Round.

(PRWEB) August 08, 2013 - The Dwyer Group® is proud to announce that its growing initiative, Women in the Trades, has chosen the first three scholarship recipients.

The winners are Jenna Dickson of Aire Serv®, Amanda Bolle of Rainbow International® and Vicky Georgantopoulos, who is currently training for a career in the trades industry.

Women in the Trades is an initiative envisioned by The Dwyer Group CEO, Dina Dwyer-Owens. This annual scholarship is awarded to women who aspire to excel within trade industry professions, including plumbing, air conditioner and appliance service and repair, landscape management and more.

The provided funds will aid in attaining all necessary training and certification to assist these women in furthering their career goals and forging a path in traditionally male-dominated industries.

Each scholarship is worth $1,500 and is given to women seeking to advance their education in the trade industries.

“We are excited to open this opportunity to women interested in trade professions to further their curiosity, expertise and experience,” Dwyer-Owens said.
