August 9, 2013 - PARK RIDGE, Ill. – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Park Ridge on August 7. Franchise owner Jay Punukollu held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, August 7 to Sunday, August 11 to support Park Ridge Community Fund.
The new restaurant, located at 147 S Northwest Highway, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Park Ridge Community Fund.
The mission of the Park Ridge Community Fund is to assess the needs of the community, raise funds, and allocate those funds to charitable organizations and health causes, especially research, rehabilitation and education.
Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.
Punukollu exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.
“For our grand opening fundraiser we are excited to work with the Park Ridge Community Fund which helps support over 25 different charities,” said Punukollu. “At Jersey Mike’s we are committed to making a difference. By teaming up with the Park Ridge Community Fund we have a great opportunity to give back to many local families while meeting new customers.”
Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way™ with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. The Jersey Mike’s experience always includes its trademark neighborly banter served up by a high-energy Jersey Mike’s team.
This is Punukollu’s sixth Jersey Mike’s location. He is the owner of two locations in Schaumburg, in addition to locations in Gurnee, Niles and Elk Grove Village.
