September 13, 2013 // Franchising.com // CANTON, MA – Baskin-Robbins, the world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty shops, announced plans to expand its Florida footprint with more than 20 new restaurants projected over the next several years throughout the Fort Myers, West Palm Beach, Tampa, Jacksonville, Panama City and Miami areas. There are currently 138 Baskin-Robbins locations in Florida.

As Baskin-Robbins continues to develop in the Sunshine State and across the U.S., the company is hosting a franchising webinar on September 25 from 9 to 10 p.m.EDT. “Baskin-Robbins has six decades of experience refining its business system to offer a fun, rewarding new business opportunity to franchisees," said Grant Benson, CFE, vice president of franchising and business development, Dunkin’ Brands. “As our brand continues to develop, we’re now looking for entrepreneurs in Florida with strong financial backgrounds and a passion for their local communities to own their very own ice cream shop.”

As part of the company's growth plans to attract new franchisees, the brand recently introduced unprecedented, limited-time development incentives. In 2013, new franchisees can take advantage of a 10-year initial franchise fee payment plan whereby the $25,000 fee can be amortized over 10 years. Additionally, qualified candidates who timely develop shops will be able to enjoy reduced royalty rates of .9% to 2.9% over the first five years, which is a significant reduction from the standard royalty rate of 5.9%.*

Baskin-Robbins has also introduced special incentives to help make business ownership a reality for U.S. military servicemen and women. For honorably discharged military veterans who sign an agreement in 2013 and timely develop shops, Baskin-Robbins will waive the 20-year initial franchisee fee and offer a zero percent royalty rate for the first two years and reduced royalty rate years three through five.*

Baskin-Robbins combines delicious treats with a simple operating model. Franchisees enjoy convenient hours of operation, minimal equipment and little product waste. They also benefit from award-winning training programs and comprehensive operating systems designed to help build business.
