Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

September 19, 2013 - LADY LAKE, FL - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Lady Lake on September 18. Franchise owners Jacob Richard and Bryan Price held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, September 18 to Sunday, September 29 to support the Moffit Cancer Center.

The new restaurant, located at 674 US Highway 441 N, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Moffit Cancer Center.

The Moffitt Cancer Center has made a lasting commitment to the prevention and cure of cancer, working tirelessly in the areas of patient care, research and education to advance one step further in fighting this disease. As part of an elite group of National Cancer Institute (NCI) Comprehensive Cancer Centers, Moffitt focuses on the development of early stage translational research aimed at the rapid translation of scientific discoveries to benefit patient care.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Richard and Price exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

“I have worked with Bryan for many years as the manager of one of his Jersey Mike’s locations in Melbourne,” said Richard. “Becoming the owner of my own Jersey Mike’s was always part of the plan and I am so excited that grand opening day is finally here. For the first eleven days that we are open, we will be raising funds for the Moffit Cancer Center. Working with this organization hits close to home with us as Bryan is a cancer survivor. This terrible disease affects so many people in so many different ways. We are hopeful that through our fundraiser we will be able to make a positive impact for people fighting cancer and come one step closer to finding a cure.”
