Jersey Mike's Subs Opens second Lincoln Location

Owner Celebrates Grand Opening with Free Subs

September 19, 2013 - Lincoln, NE - Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Lincoln on September 18. Franchise owner Jeffrey Marcotte along with director of operations Ross Olsbo held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, September 18 to Sunday, September 22 to support Lincoln Fire and Rescue.

The new restaurant, located at 5001 O Street, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to Lincoln Fire and Rescue.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

Marcotte exemplifies Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

“With our grand opening date being so close to September 11, we thought the best way to honor the brave men and women who lost their lives would be to support our own local heroes and first responders,” said Marcotte. “The warm response we received from opening our first location downtown, has made the process of opening our second store that much more exciting. Passionate Jersey Mike's fans crave their subs made Mike's Way™ with onions, lettuce, tomatoes and a signature olive oil blend, vinegar and spices. The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. Everything is quickly made to order for each customer, just the way the first subs were made at the original Jersey Mike's more than fifty years ago. This is Marcotte’s second Jersey Mike’s Subs. He opened Lincoln’s first Jersey Mike’s location in December 2012 at 210 North 14th Street.
